Holden Payne

Wildfire Behaviour Analyst

BSF, MF

Holden has experience with fire behavior modeling and prediction along with machine learning and data analysis as it applies to wildfire activity in Western North America. His primary research experience is in disturbance regime interactions among outbreaks of major tree-killing bark beetles and wildfire activity over the past half-decade in Pacific coastal forests.

Now at Frontera, Holden handles discrete fire behavior modeling and stand-level assessments of fire risk and potential spread. He is acutely interested in fire regime-driven silviculture and prescribed burning as a tool for forest management.
