Who We Are Seeking

Frontera is seeking an experienced and innovative Forest Professional to join our company as an Associate Forester in the role of Department Head of our Prescriptions & Operations Department. This position will lead and manage the Department, which takes on projects such as fuel management prescriptions (FMPs), cultural and prescribed burn plans, fuel treatment operational supervision, and post-treatment assessments. This is an exciting opportunity to help grow and develop an important department within our business. We are seeking a motivated leader who has a track record of working well on teams and possesses strong consulting skills. We outline details on the type of skillsets we are looking for below.


Required Qualifications

● 5 or more years of forestry experience in wildland fire and fuel management

● Strong project management experience

● Strong written and verbal communication skills

● Proven track record of leading teams or staff in the natural resource field

● Experience in training and quality control of data collection and report writing

● Proven track record of successful relationship building, in particular with forestry clients

● Registered with FPBC or eligible for immediate registration as an RPF

● Possesses a valid BC drivers licence

● Eligible to work in Canada.


Preferred Qualifications

● Track record of developing successful proposals and/or bids

● Experience with working for Indigenous communities or companies

● Expertise in developing and submitting data into RESULTS

● Proficiency in GIS and geoprocessing

● Proficiency in data analysis

● Proficiency in tracking projects and using integrated project management software.


This is a full-time permanent position. We offer competitive compensation packages and commit to salary increases for positive performance. Given this position’s high level of responsibility and growth potential we will offer a competitive salary ($85,000 to $100,000 annual) commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. Frontera also offers a profit sharing bonus package to senior level professionals.

This position is based in North Vancouver but remote work will be considered. We offer a hybrid work schedule and an excellent extended benefits package, as well as a yearly training budget and reimbursement of professional membership dues.
